I Am A Knitting Machine

I have no idea how Im getting it done but its getting done.

I am officially the sock knitting queen. I knitted and shipped off the two pairs of socks for my Knitted For Ewe customer. She got them today and loves them. Yay!
I knitted a pair of sockettes for Megan to take to her sock exchange she had tonight for her basketball team. She picked the colours. Not the colours I would pick, lime green and hunter orange. Apparently everyone wanted them. Go figure.
I am now working on the custom men's sock order that I got through Knitted For Ewe. I thought I might be lucky to post them off on Monday but they are knitting up fast once I got it all set and now I have finished a whole sock and have one to go. I wish I could have these socks because they are made from very soft superwash wool. I may have to treat myself some day. I am hoping to get these socks posted off tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning.

Tomorrow I have to finish off ninja outfit for a monkey. Its half done already so I dont think the rest will take too long. That has to be done by tomorrow afternoon.

I just logged into my shop and discovered that I made 2 sales today. The lady who bought my first lamb just bought the second lamb and the pair of puppet mittens. Two things are so excellent about this, two sales are great and these items are already knitted and ready to be mailed out.

Once all this is done I can concentrate on the girls handmade Christmas gifts. Unfortunately that is looking like more sock knitting hehe. These are just a couple of pairs for Victoria which are quick and easy. See I told you I am the sock knitting queen hehe.

Other than all the knitting going on I have been getting our Christmas Eve party organized. Everyone I called is coming which means our house will be full on Christmas Eve. I'm saving the cleaning preparations until it gets a little closer otherwise I will have to do it all over again. We are buying our big honey glazed ham this weekend which is the most important part.

The girls did very well in the concerts last week. I was very proud especially of Victoria because this was her first ever concert. She did so great. She was up there singing for all to hear and doing all the actions. It was wonderful to see such progress from the super super shy girl that she was. Little by little that girl is getting better at being around people. At home and with certain others she has no problem but most people she use to barely even acknowledge they were there. Its getting better.

Megan has her last basketball game tomorrow. What will she do with herself once basketball ends? I dont know what sport comes next hehe. It would be nice if she took a break for a while. Good luck convincing her of that though hehe.

Well thats all my updates for now. I better go back and get started on that second sock before going to bed.

It's Going To Be A Musical Week

Here is a photo of my cable fingerless mittens that I made last week. This is my own design which is kind of exciting. I have only done my own hats and bag designs so far so this was a new venture. They came out just the way I wanted them to on the first try.

This was also just added to my shop. I had never made a cowl before but they looked interesting and easy. I kind of just made up this pattern and hoped it would turn out. I had knit it a couple of different ways before settling on the ribbing stitch and it turned out better than I hoped. It must be ok because Megan wants it. I told her she cant have it but I'll make her one of her own. These are quick projects that dont use alot of yarn, good for stash busting. Im trying to ignore the fact that Im in these photos hehe.

The title of this post states that it will be a musical week and so it will. On Tuesday we get to go to Victoria's first school concert. I can not wait to go to this. She has been singing Rudolph and Jingle Bells in this house for about 4 weeks now. I believe they even have actions which is even better. I am loving the "Ho what fun it His to ride on a one Horse open sleigh" part of Jingle Bells. Make sure when you sign the H you really emphasize it too hehe. The big question will be will she freak out on stage because she really is shy or will she shine because she loves attention and all her friends will be with her too. It will be interesting. The other musical event this week is Megan's chorus and band concert on Thursday. These are always entertaining. I have no idea what songs they are playing because that girl has only practiced one time on her flute at home. Im sure she will do fine because they practice at school and she picks up things really easily. Throw in a couple of Megan's basketball games and some Christmas shopping and you have what my week is looking like hehe.

On the Knitted For Ewe front I have orders for 3 pairs of socks. I have nearly finished the first pair. I am waiting on the colour that they person wants for the second pair and I have to special order the yarn for the third pair. I also have an order for a rainbow monkey for one of Megan's friends. Her mum has asked me to make her one. Megan has decided that she wants to turn it into a ninja monkey so we bought some felt to make ninja accessories. This should be interesting hehe. Ive never made ninja accessories before. Believe it or not we had trouble finding good rainbow yarn. We settled for some cotton yarn that we found that Megan says is close enough. These girls are picky.

Oh I also need to get knitting Victoria's christmas presents. She wants a brown kitty. I dont know why and I know she really wants some new socks because her last pair died after being worn so so much. She was crying because they got a hole, this is how much she loved them hehe.

Well I better get going. Lots of knitting to do.

Very Exciting Thing For Knitted For Ewe

I logged into Etsy today to find a message from another store that they had selected my little lamb to put in their treasury.
Here he is

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=24645

A treasury is a group of items selected by a seller on Etsy that they have seen on Etsy and have liked. If enough people view this treasury it could be selected to be put on the front page of Etsy for a while. This would be great exposure for my shop so Im very excited to even be chosen. That would very cool to see something of mine on fhe front page. Keep your fingers crossed and check out the treasury.

WooHoo!

A Little Lamb Who Wants A Home

I listed this little guy in my shop last week. He turned out so cute. Dont you just want to hug him. He really wants a home though. None of this hanging about and not being played with. Victoria has tried to nab him several times.

Here he is all nakey with his tail hanging out. Now you know why he needs the cardigan. He'd get pretty chilly otherwise.

I liked how these photos turned out. I may have finally found the way to take my photos for my shop that will stand out, have good lighting and show the product well.

Today I am hoping to list a couple more things. A monkey that I had made ages ago. He is a blue and brown fluffy monkey I like to call Morris. I am also listing a pair of wristwarmers. Well I think I am. I have gone back and forth whether to list them or keep them for myself and just make another pair for the shop. I think it will be a last minute decision. They just need some ends threaded in and they will be ready for photos. I am pretty proud of these wristwarmers because I designed the pattern myself. Yay for me. They have a cable design on the front of them.

The kiddies and the husband went back to the regular routine today. School and work, work and school. It was nice having everyone home. Megan was even home for most of the holidays. We started decorating for Christmas. This isnt just a one day event in our house. It could take a week or two before its all set up. We live with Christmas Elf Joe if you remember hehe. The tree is up and all decorated. I think Victoria has the Christmas gene from Joe because she just loves to lay next to the tree and look up at it all the time especially when the lights are turned on. We still have to put the tree up that goes on the front porch. Its going to be pretty colourful out there at night. We got some new icicle lights that are multi coloured and you can see them from store up the road hehe. Its all very National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
For Thanksgiving we went to Joe's dad's house. The food was yummy and we all just hung out. We brought the stuffing which Joe made because I ran out of time. We also brought dessert. Apparently I am becoming famous for making good dessert. The girls helped me make some Boston Cream Pie Minis. They are cupcake sized Boston Cream Pies. They taste just like the big version. We made them at Girl Scouts a while ago and Joe liked them so we thought we'd try it again. They were a big hit.

I just finished finalizing the details on a custom order that I cant wait to get started on. I will be making some men's socks for a guy who has rather large feet. I found a pattern I should be able to use. He has decided that he wants them knitted in the superwash wool which is wool yarn that can be washed without shrinking. I havent used it before but heard alot about it. They should make very nice comfy socks. I'll probably want a pair myself once Im done with them.

A little personal message here to my niece. Happy 3rd Birthday Olivia! I love you. I hope you liked your mermaid cake with the rainbow on it. I meant to call and say Happy Birthday but kept remembering when you guys were probably in snooze land. I promise to call you soon. Fingers crossed we'll see you at Christmas.

They're Suppose To Be Kitties

I just added these kitty puppet mittens to my Etsy shop. They are suppose to be white kitties so I hope they look like kitties. They werent from a pattern I just kind of made them up. Victoria says they look like kitties so I figured they did. Now I think about it Im taking the word of a 5 year old hehe.

Anyway, she loves them so hopefully they will do well. Maybe they are more something you need to see in person. I think I am going to make another pair of these but a different animal this time. I think the next pair are going to be dinosaurs. Im trying to decide what are good colours for a dinosaur. Im thinking something like purple and green, blue and green, purple and red. Am I along the right path here?

I am in the process of making another lamb for the shop. I figured the first one was popular and sold pretty quickly, I should probably make another one. This one didnt take me long to make and the snowy stay inside weather hasnt hurt either. This lamb is different colours than the last one. He is looking pretty cute actually. The girls love him so thats a good sign. This one is beige with brown feet and muzzle. It will have a green cardigan. All thats left to do is sew up the cardigan and add a button. Im hoping to have it listed tomorrow.

Very soon Im going to have to split KnittedForEwe knitting with Christmas present knitting. Victoria tells me she wants me to knit her a brown kitty for Christmas. I would love to make more socks. The ones I was making for her got put on hold. So much knitting and not enough time hehe.

Long Tasks Being Done

This past week I unravelled the knitted blanket that I bought second hand. It took me 4 days to get it all unravelled. In the end I now have 16 balls of cream yarn to do with whatever I want. Thats alot of cream yarn hehe.

I have also been working on transferring all my Etsy seller and item favourites from my Etsy username that I have been buying with for about 3 years now. I would just like to have all my Etsy stuff under the Knitted For Ewe name. It has become a very long process because I have alot of favourites. I cant help myself hehe. I am so close to being done and it will be worth it to only have to log in under one name.

If you look on the right side of my blog you will now see that I have created a little photo box of items that are for sale in Knitted For Ewe. I will make sure it stays updated so if your ever on here and your wondering what Im selling right now you just take a peek at the little thumbnail boxes and you are all up to date.

I listed my women's knitted socks the other day. The photos are of the socks that I knitted for myself. Let me tell you that I can vouch for these socks 100%. If I had more time I would own many many pairs especially with it getting colder and colder. Today would be nice to wear them because I just shovelled Joe out of the driveway and the snow is just about up to my knees. I have a feeling the girls wont have to go to school tomorrow. Megan is spending the night at her friends house because no one wants to drive on the roads to get her home. Im sure she is suffering hehe

I also listed a green felted bag that I finished lining yesterday. I wish I could keep this bag myself. Its so soft and I love the colours. The ceramic bird button is my favourite part. Its so smooth to touch. Oh well, I guess I cant keep it all. Selling it will be just as fun as well.

I am trying ever so hard not to start any new projects and finish off the other unfinished projects I have. I have to stop myself so many times not just pick up some new yarn and start a new idea spinning around my head. I tell myself that finishing the old stuff will help stock my shop and thats what keeps me going. Actually I am sewing on some handles of a cotton tote bag I have been working on that should be done by tomorrow so I am well on my way to finished items.

On Friday night we took Victoria to her first movie ever. We went to see Madagascar 2 which she has been dying to see. Megan saw it last week with a friend and her sister. We hadnt taken her to the movies before this because she has this thing with loud noises. She has gotten much better about loud noises these days so we thought we would try it. I think waiting until she was older has actually made her movie going experience more special. She was so so excited. She was just soaking up every little thing. She walks into the theatre and announces that when you go to the movies you must have popcorn so that is what she got. She was grinning from ear to ear and amazed by everything. She couldnt believe the size of the screen. She was a little worried about the movie not coming on because of all the previews but once it started she was good to go. She especially liked the seats because they kind of rock and she could bounce on them. So now she keeps telling us how much she loved going to the movies. I think there is no stopping her now. She is hooked hehe.

Our Morning Surprise

This is what we woke up to today. Snow, snow, snow. I dont know if we're quite ready for all this snow yet but here it is. Victoria already wants to make a snow family and I just know Megan will come home from school telling me that she HAS to have hot chocolate today.

Our poor little car all covered in snow.

Everything looks prettier when its got snow on it.

All these photos were taken in our backyard. Lots of prettiness everywhere. Definitely different from the Autumn photos I posted not that long ago. Now the trees are all naked and ready to be covered in snow for many months to come. If my sister Kylie is looking at my blog then take a good look because this is what you have to look forward to at Christmas time hehehe.

Its Exciting! Its Exciting!

Today Knitted For Ewe got its very first sale!!!!!!
Yep you read it right. Im so excited. I had to read it twice just so it would sink in. The lamb with the cardigan now has a new home to go to. Its just so amazing.

I listed another item on Friday. Its an Olive Green felted bag that has a matching pouch that fits inside it. I needed to list something other than a knitted toy to show some of the other things that I knit. It was just sitting there all finished and waiting to be listed.

I got out all my almost finished bags the other day. I didnt realize how many there are hehe. I think my goal this week is to get at least two of those finished and listed.

I bought a big cream coloured blanket from Samaritan House on Friday thinking it was great chunky yarn that could become a cool bag or lots of other things. I started to unravel it only to discover the person who had knitted it has doubled up on worsted weight. Its not the chunky yarn I thought it was but now I have even twice the amount of yarn I thought I had, bonus. I am going to have cream yarn coming out of my ears. Thats ok because cream yarn can become a toy, a pillow or a great bag. Lots of possibilities and at a bargain price of about 25c. I also found a couple of great buckles that could become great for closing bags.

I am working on the kitty puppet mittens. I have them almost finished. Im not sure what I am going to do about the eyes. Victoria's has google eyes that have a slit at the back to stitch on. Im not sure if the person who made them put the slit there or they bought them like that. I havent been able to find them yet. I could also embroider the eyes on which might be better because they wont fall off. I think I will figure it out when it comes time to do the eyes. They will go on last. Victoria seems to approve of how they look so far.

My Megan just made it on her school modified girls basketball team this week. She is very excited. Every time she tells me about practice she seems surprised that she has improved from last year. I think all that soccer may have helped her game. She is also trying out for the school musical this week. We will see how this all works schedule wise. I keep telling that girl that maybe trying to do all this stuff is not such a good idea but she looks at me like I have no idea what I am talking about. I think this is going to have to be one of those things that she will have to find out on her own.

A New Book For Me

I just got this book in the mail from my Mum. It is a signed copy which is pretty fancy. My Mum found this blog and liked her stuff and the colours she uses. I have to agree. The blog is http://annamariahorner.blogspot.com/
Even if you dont sew her pictures are delightful to look at. If you would love to learn to sew then this is the book for you because it tells you absolutely everything you need to know. I sew a little bit and sometimes need some help so I am sure I will be referring to this book often. The projects are great too.

I made another listing today. Its for the baby monkey that I knit a while ago. He is so cute. I have to hide him from the girls so they dont steal him.

I have a couple of felted bags that are so close to being finished. I think I will have to sit down and finish them off so they will be able to be listed in the shop. I am now thinking that having this shop is a great motivator for finishing off projects. That will be exciting all on its own. We crafters tend to start many projects and not finish them. Its an issue that I am not alone in hehe.

One project that I do want to get started so that I can list them in my shop are some puppet mittens. Victoria has a pair that the yarn shop gave her and absolutely every time she wears them people gush over them and want some. I think I have figured out the pattern from looking at them and I want to make some. She has what she calls dragons but I would like to do lots of other animals. I think they could be really popular judging by what people say about hers. We shall see.

Well I finally sat down and did it. Knitted For Ewe has two things listed. Its very exciting and very scary at the same time.

Our Yarn Field Trip

My friend Beth and I went on our yarn field trip on Friday. It was so much fun. We definitely have to do it again. It was like Nicole heaven. Not only was there all this beautiful yarn but they sell beads and jewellery making supplies so I was in love with all the beads as well. To top it all off there was unlimited coffee. They also have other knitters stuff and great little present ideas like pottery and local honey. If your in the Upstate New York area you need to check out Imagine in Bemus Point. It was so so hard to pick out what to get. We ended up being there for over 3 hours. We sat and chatted for a while and generally took our time because none of use was in a hurry to leave. I have taken photos of the stuff that I purchased. Above you will see the brown heathered Cascade 220 wool that I thought might make a cozy felted bag. I just love the colour and so many ideas come to mind with that colour.

I decided to buy a little something for myself so I got this cream yarn to make a chunky scarf. As you can see I couldnt wait to get started on the scarf. I had to restart this scarf about 10 time before I came up with the right type of stitch and amount of stitches to look how I want it. Once that was all sorted out it took me no time at all. I finished the scarf on Saturday night and wore it today. This yarn is made from merino wool, alapaca and silk. Its very soft, light and warm. It creates instant heat when it touches your skin so that should be good in the winter. It came out nice and long which is the way I like them.

I just had to buy these beads. Arent they so cute. I am going to make a necklace or something for Megan for Christmas. She loves frogs and turtles. The little turtle bead was only $1.40 and the frog bead was only $2 which is a steal because its a handmade glass bead. Beth had to get one of each as well because she loves frogs and turtles. I will have to keep these guys hidden from Megan until Christmas.

Later on that day we went out shopping and I popped into the craft shop. The bunny pyjama bag got picked up that afternoon and paid for so I had a little money in my pocket. I ended up getting the beige yarn above to use to knit a teddy bear.

I bought this Teal heather coloured yarn to make myself some new socks because my brown and pink ones died. I plan on listing this type of socks in my store so I thought once the socks are done I can take a photo of them to put up as an example of that style. See it wasnt just for me but for the good of my store too hehe.

This cornflower blue cotton yarn was the original reason I went in the craft shop. I needed it to finished of a bag that I have been working on. I really want to see how its going to look when its all done so I got this to finish that project.

Lastly I got these stitchmarkers and this leather cord. The stitchmarkers that you can open and close were really needed because the ones that I can broke really easily and were just driving me crazy. The leather cord I got to make the frog bead into a necklace for Megan.

So it looks like Friday was a very crafty day. I am having lots of fun with my goodies. Its keeping me well occupied, not that I wasnt already hehe.

I think this week is going to end up going fast. On Tuesday we have an Honours Dinner at the school for Megan because she was on the Honour Roll 4 times last year. On Wednesday I have Mops and Victoria has Girl Scouts, on Thursday Megan has Girl Scouts and Friday is Halloween. I will be going to school to join Victoria's class for their Halloween party and see the parade. Later that night we will go Trick Or Treating. Fingers crossed it will at least be dry.

Lots Of Packages In The Mail Today

I got lots of exciting packages in the mail today. One was even a surprise package which is always good. I got my Thank You cards that will go to my customers. They came out just as I had imagined. The wonderful Bitsy Creations on Etsy made them for me. They even have the website printed on the back of the card. The design of the card was done by McPrincess Maree on Etsy as well.

I also got my promotional stuff from Donna Pool today. Its so cool to have my very own badge and magnet. I can just see Megan wanting these when she sees them. The badges are little 1 inch badges. I was worried about the writing being easy to read but these look perfect. Just what I wanted.

Here is the stack of magnets that are the same size as the badges. For such a little guy the magnet is really strong. They came out even better than I thought they would.

The surprise package came from my sister. I had no idea she was even sending anything. She decided to send us a little pre-Christmas treat of Christmas pudding. I havent had one of these in a long time. My mum use to make them for Christmas and hide coins inside them and it was considered good luck if you got a coin. If I remember right we would drizzle cream over the top of the warm pudding. I dont think anyone in our house has tried this so it will be a new thing for them. Im not sure if Joe will go for it but my girls will try anything once, most of the time. So Thanks Big Sis for the surprise. She is suppose to be coming to visit us this Christmas. She is not much of a Christmas person and we are so she is hoping we can turn her from Grinch to Christmas Elf. We are up for the challenge hehe.

The Duck, The Bunny And Some Sheep

Last Thursday I finished off two projects in one day. I felt very accomplished. The duck is all done and ready to be loved probably by someone who has a love of duckies. I thought that the seaming was going to be really hard on this one but just by taking my time and making sure I did it right it came together and ended up looking just how it was suppose to. Not to bad for something that was made out of the stash of knitting stuff I already had. This toy was different because he has those little pellets inside him in certain parts to make it more weighted. He has them at the end of his arms and in his butt. I hadnt used them before. I bought them for a project that is waiting to be seamed up. I liked how the pellets worked so well I was tempted to fill it all up with pellets. Maybe one day I will try that with one of the toys and see how that turns out. Very squishy Im sure. Victoria had fun just putting her hand in the bag and feeling all the pellets.

Here's the little duckie butt shot. He's not very modest this one.

I finally finished off the bunny pyjama bag which is the last of the order from my friend Natalie. I am so pleased she has liked what I have made for her. I really like how the red looks on this bunny. I dont like how these photos turned out for some reason. I wish I had of retaken them. Yet again Mr Ringo Kitty couldnt resist getting in the way making it difficult to take a shot without him. He is such a camera hog. I think Victoria has her eye on this Bunny Bag because her favourite colour is red but she already has one and this is not for her. These girls would hijack every stuff animal I make if they could.

Here's where the pyjamas go, right inside his belly.

On Friday I got my business cards. Arent they just so cute. I love how they turned out. I have already given two away. Now its like a real business.

Yesterday I got the custom stamp I ordered in the mail. I was so excited to get it I had to come straight home and try it out. I got out my fancy circle cutter and the pearly pretty cardstock I had bought and got to work. I just love how the stamp came out. It is just how I wanted it to look.

I have two more things to come in the mail probably by the end of this week and I am all set. Its getting all too exciting because my vision is coming to light.

I am counting down the days until Friday this week because I am off to the yarn/cafe shop with my friend Beth from the library. She is excited to be going as well. I cant wait to feel all the yarn and taste all the goodies. I can already see myself having a hard time deciding what to bring home. I think I will have to sit down and figure what will be useful and what kind of yarn I would like for certain projects before we go so I have some sort of game plan. That may all get thrown out the window once Im there though hehehe.

I am working on two projects this week. A cable bag that I have been wanting to start for a long time. Its one of those things where I have everything I need to make it and just havent started. Its actually knitting up really quickly because the yarn is chunky. I could see myself making another one in a different colour.
The other project I am working on is a pair of socks for Victoria. She had two pairs of socks that I made her and she loves them so much that she has wore one of them out. All the time she asks me to make her some more so I started on some yesterday. I think she will like them because I am making them in Spiderman colours, red and blue, to go with her new pyjamas.

Now that its getting close to listing things on Etsy I think I better get out all my finished projects and projects waiting to be finished. Im not even sure what items I have ready to list so I will have to get that done soon.

Autumn In Sinclairville

This past weekend we had some beautiful weather. It was sunny and warm like summer but the leaves are all changing for Autumn. I took this opportunity to take a walk around our neighborhood and take some photos of all the beautiful colours. Of course I took alot more than these pictures and it was very hard to choose which ones to put on here. Can you believe the brilliant colour of those leaves in the first photo. Everywhere around you are the smells of Autumn. The wood fires, the leaves and the faint smell of apples. It makes you want to be able to bottle it all up and keep it forever.
Sadly all these beautiful colours dont last long around here. In a couple of weeks all the trees will be 'naked' and getting ready for the snow. So we try to soak it all in and wait patiently for it to arrive next year.

I took this shot above while looking up at a huge tree covered in orange leaves. It feels like standing under a big orange umbrella.

These trees line the creek that is at the end of our street. What a view.

This bush is sitting in someones backyard surrounded by green grass and trees. It stood out so much with its wonderful red leaves that I just have to stop and take a photo.

This is one of my favourite photos. The way the light hits this tree and the way this shot shows off the height and brilliance of it all.

I took a ton of photos of Victoria playing in the leaves even though people drove past looking at us strangely hehe. This was one of my favourite one. Cant you just see the delight on her face as she tosses them in the air. Victoria had to come along with me on my walk. She brought along her pretend phone that makes a camera noise when you press one of the buttons. She was taken photos of everything. I think we need to get this girl one of those little kids digital cameras. I would love to see it all from her point of view. I think it would be interesting.

This last photo is of our beloved Maple St. Isnt it cute? I hope you enjoyed a little peak into Autumn In Sinclairville.

All Sorts Of Businessy Stuff Happening Today

I finally feel like I am getting somewhere with my Etsy shop today. They money order my mum sent cleared yesterday so today I was on a business buying frenzy.
I paid for my wonderful stamp which I cant wait to see and use. I ordered and paid for my Thank You cards. I ordered and paid for my business cards (Yay!) and lastly I got into discussions with the lady who is making my promotional buttons and magnets. She is busy this weekend so on Monday will start putting the design together for those. Tomorrow we are going shopping and I can buy the circle cutter and cutting mat for the tags and all the stuff that I wanted to get will be all set to go. Its all very exciting. I can finally put some life into my shop and get going on this scary but exciting ride I have jumped on.

I am working on two things at the moment knitting wise. I am at the seaming stage of the cream bunny pyjama bag with red accents. I need to get some new red yarn to do the eyes and nose. It should be finished this weekend. I also just started on knitting a duck. The pattern comes from the Knitted Toys book that I made the piggy from. Its actually knitting up quite quickly. I am using some yarn I forgot I had. Its always nice to make a project that you can just use things that you already have and not have to buy anything extra for it.

On the home front there have been some spooky things happening around here. Just today I was using the computer while Joe was sleeping. He popped his head out of the room and asked me if I had just said something. I said no and he asked me if I was sure looking very confused. I said I am just here using the computer, why? He said that he had just heard someone saying his name and then when he turned over thinking I had given up trying to get his attention, it felt like someone was shaking the bed trying to get his attention. Well it wasnt me and I was the only one here. He still thinks I was just messing with him but I swear it wasnt me.
We were talking about this at dinner and Megan said that last week she was up in the morning getting ready for school and she thought I was up and calling Hello to her but it wasnt me, I was sleeping.
Last month Joe came home in from work in the morning as usual. Megan was just about to leave for school. He noticed the kitchen windows and the bathroom looked all steamy like it gets when someone has just had a shower. He asked Megan if she had had a shower and she said she didnt which I believe she didnt because she waits until soccer practice after school.
To top it all off, last weekend I went to get a new battery put in a watch that I hadnt used in over a year. It ended up that I couldnt get the battery put in. I wore the watch out that day so I wouldnt forget to get the battery put in. I knew it definitely wasnt working. After I found out I couldnt get the battery put in that day we shopped around a little more and I happened to look at my watch, not only was my watch now working but it was on the exact right time.
Doesnt all this just send shivers down your spine? Who knows. We live in a house that was built in the late 1800's so I am always telling Joe you cant have a house this old and not have some sort of leftover stuff hanging around. The longer we live here the more these stories keep popping up.

Well now that I've officially freaked everyone out I better sign off because even though the girls have the day off school tomorrow Victoria will still be up at 7am (grrrr).

Piggy Number 2

Megan loves her piggy Wilbur. I think he is snuggled in her bed as we speak. Tuesday afternoon I finished Victoria's pig. She has not put him down since. Everywhere she can take him he has been. I have to buy some more stuffing and try to restuff one of his front leg without undoing the seam because likes to carry him by his front legs and has squeezed the stuff out of one leg hehe.
And what does she call this piggy? Why Fluffy of course hehe. Apparently he is so soft and that is why he is called that.

I used safety eyes for this pig because the stitches were tighter and I knew they wouldnt fall off this one. I like the safety eyes better than the embroidered eyes.

This guys tail holds its curl a little better than the other one which is always a good thing. You've gotta have a good curl on your piggy's tail.

Now that I have made two pigs in a row I need a little break from piggy making although I see more of them being made in the future. I am working on the last part of the order for my friend Natalie. A bunny pyjama bag that is cream with red features. I have been working on this on and off for a couple of weeks so most of the body is done. This isnt needed until November so I have a good feeling it will be done in time.

The navy blue and lime green cotton monkey went off to be in his new home last night. He waited patiently and his day finally arrived. I hope his recipient falls in love with him.

Wish me luck as tomorrow Megan has her sleepover night tomorrow to celebrate her birthday. I think there will be 4 of them including Megan. It will be a night of pizza, munchies, Disney Scene It, Twister and movies. Oh and you cant forget the many giggles. Joe is usually at work when this stuff has happened in the past so he will be experiencing his first crazy sleepover. All us girls against one boy. Although he told Megan he wants to join in which Megan has said NO WAY!! hehe. It should be interesting.

A Tribute To The Birthday Girl

This past Monday my Megan turned 14. I cant believe she is now 14. So I thought I would pay tribute to my Meggy with a few old photos of her. We've come a long way. Its hard to believe this girl is now just about as tall as me and can wear my clothes hehe.
The above photo was taken when she was 4 months old. Dont you just want to pinch those cheeks.

Here she is at about age 3 with a mirror in her hand. She very much loved to admire herself in the mirror and why wouldnt you when you look so cute. One day she said to me, "Mummy did you always know I was going to be this cute?" and I said "Yes I did" hehe.

Here she is all dressed ready to go to a party on her favourite swing under Grandma's magnolia tree.

Megan's 3rd birthday wearing her favourite dress she got that day. She wasnt a fan at first but then she wanted to wear this dress until she could no longer get her arms through the holes. She says it reminds her of Alice In Wonderland. The wonderful and talented Glenda made that dress and apron.

Here is Megan at her 5th birthday party. This party she had invited all boys something that she would never do now hehe. Two of the boys were her boyfriends at the time. Perhaps she got that all out of her system then because now she doesnt really have an interest in boys except to make fun of them. I know all to well this could change at any time hehe.

Well that is just a little glimpse into my Megan. Happy 14th Birthday Megan! You've certainly made it an interesting, hilarious, surprising ride. I love you to pieces.
